Overview

Murrumbidgee Irrigation Limited, Coleambally Irrigation Co-operative Limited and Murray Irrigation Limited (Irrigation Infrastructure Operators (IIOs)) received funding under the Resilient Rivers Water Infrastructure Program to model the business impact of current water buy back programs and identify potential opportunities for water savings projects. • was a member of, and reported to, the Project Control Group, and

  • meeting the requirements of the funding agreement (including risk management and reporting, budget reporting, outcome updates and project health reports).

Outcome

This feasibility assessment improved the IIOs understanding of:

  • potential opportunities for water efficiency infrastructure projects

  • the impact of water buybacks on their businesses

  • support for future business sustainability, and

  • providing socio-economic outcomes for all customers, stakeholders and communities.
